Flooring around the rooms

( description )

This project marks our second collaboration with Evripides Hotel. In 2016, we redesigned the bar and breakfast area, and in 2022, we undertook the renovation of the 5th and 6th floors. The seven-story building, originally permitted as an industrial structure, has operated as a hotel since its inception. The 6th floor’s setback design allows for expansive balconies with breathtaking views of the Acropolis and Asteroskopeio, while the 5th floor underwent a complete spatial reconfiguration, creating larger bathrooms and more spacious entrances for each room.

A prototype room was developed as a design guideline, ensuring cohesion across spaces that previously had varied layouts. The renovation sought to harmonize the newly designed rooms with the 2016 breakfast area, emphasizing material continuity through terrazzo flooring, curved metal elements, and custom-built constructions.
Each room’s entrance serves as a transitional buffer zone, housing both the bathroom and an open wardrobe system. A striking monochrome treatment in warm terracotta tones defines these entry spaces, contrasting with the neutral gray palette of the main rooms. The color scheme draws inspiration from the radiant, sunlit hues of Athens, enhancing the warmth and depth of the interiors.
