Apartment Svolou

( description )

Situated in the heart of Thessaloniki, this apartment offers a direct view of the historic Agia Sofia church. Originally built in the early 1970s, the residence underwent a complete renovation, stripping away unnecessary elements while preserving key architectural features. The result is a contemporary living space that respects the building’s past while embracing modern functionality.

The renovation focused on enhancing spatial flow and maximizing natural light. Walls were reconfigured to create an open-plan layout, allowing the living, dining, and kitchen areas to seamlessly interact. Large windows frame the iconic urban landscape, bringing the city’s energy into the home.
Material selection played a crucial role in balancing old and new. Warm wooden flooring, sleek modern finishes, and neutral tones define the interior palette. Carefully restored original elements, such as select architectural details from the 70s, add character while blending effortlessly with contemporary design.
