This specific project is about the architectural design of a bakery in Paramythia, a small mountain town in Epirus. The renovation of the old and the creation of a new space, that would cover the business’ and the clients’ needs, was the main goal. The challenge for our office came by the need to conflate three elements in a harmonic coexistence: the long standing presence of the company in the market, the geographical location of the store and the customer’s demand for something new. This attainment was accomplished through the materials used for construction: perforated bricks, terrazzo tiles, wood and corten steel. All four materials are at the same time classic and high end, a unique mixture of craftsmanship and technology.
